He also advocates for the practice of time-restricted eating (TRE), which involves limiting one’s eating window to a 12-14 hour period, “allowing for a longer overnight fast.” This approach can be beneficial for the gut microbiome, with Professor Spector suggesting that it can be sustained in the long term and has a positive impact on overall health.
