Minerva High School’s Senior Service Day is an annual event that brings together students, staff, and administration to give back to the community. On November 7, approximately 60 Minerva High School seniors participated in the event, which involved cleaning up yards for retired residents throughout Minerva. The students, joined by school staff and administration, raked and bagged leaves, pulled weeds, and cleaned out flower and mulch beds to help prepare properties for winter.
The event was organized by Minerva High School Assistant Principal Tim Wolf, who coordinated volunteers and matched them with homes in the community. According to Wolf, “The Minerva High School Class of 2026 is very strong. They have demonstrated great leadership, school spirit, and community pride. I am very proud of them” (Dispatch, 2025). This sentiment is reflective of the school’s commitment to fostering a sense of community and social responsibility among its students.
The Senior Service Day serves as a hands-on lesson in community service, allowing students to interact with and assist residents in need.
