The Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin has established the Formula and Food Insecurities Fund to support families in need of vital nutrition. This initiative was launched in response to the ongoing government shutdown, which has impacted federal food assistance programs, including the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) ([1](www. yahoo. com → news → articles → community-foundation-launches-formula-food-143342748. html)). The shutdown has resulted in depleted funds for the SNAP program, with the U. S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) stating that “the well has run dry” and “there will be no benefits issued” after November 1 ([2](www. usda. gov → oascr → media-center → response-faqs-snap-benefits)). The Formula and Food Insecurities Fund will provide grants to nonprofit organizations in Marathon, Lincoln, Langlade, and Taylor counties that distribute food and formula to those in need.
In Wisconsin, SNAP is administered by the Department of Health Services through a program called FoodShare ([3](www. dhs. wi. gov → pages → Programs → Services → FoodShare. aspx)). The shutdown has paused new SNAP → FoodShare benefits after October 31, leaving many households without the funds they typically receive at the beginning of each month ← →
