Published by South China Morning Post: The Asian Family Legacy Foundation, established in January, recently held its inauguration ceremony at the five-star St Regis Hong Kong hotel. The foundation aims to bring together family offices in Hong Kong to pursue charitable endeavors and cultural exchanges. Founder Zhu, whose family is from mainland China, has experience working with family offices in New York and saw the potential for a similar foundation in Asia.

With the rapid growth of family offices in the region, Zhu believes the organization can make a positive impact in the community. The foundation, a non-profit organization, will facilitate activities in Hong Kong that allow its global members to collaborate, network, and raise funds for charity projects focused on education, cultural heritage protection, and community services across Asia.

Notably… Zhu mentioned that many of the foundation’s 120 members comprise overseas family offices interested in learning aboutHong Kong’s policies and regulations. Recently, Hong Kong’s Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po announced the launch of the Hong Kong Academy for Wealth Legacy’s Impact Link database, aiming to connect donors with charitable projects.

This development is part of the city’s efforts to attract wealthy families to set up offices inHong Kong, “focusing on investments,” “philanthropy.”.. and succession planning.
