The Caribou Vikings girls’ tennis team is gearing up to play for the State Title tomorrow, according to reports by Wagmtv. com. With a impressive track record of 12 Regional titles and four State Championships, the team is no stranger to success on the courts. Co-captain Madelynn Deprey reflected on the team’s journey, saying, “It’s amazing, if you would have told me at the beginning of the season to make it to the states, I wouldn’t have believed you. It’s awesome.” Deprey’s teammate, Emberlie McIntyre, echoed her sentiments, stating, “This has been an awesome opportunity.
I never competed at this level before, and it’s been pretty amazing.” As one of the few seniors on the team… McIntyre acknowledged that the team’s motivation stems from their heartbreaking ___ in the quarterfinals on their home court last year. “We’re driven to win because we lost to them last year. It pushed us to do our best this year,” McIntyre explained.
Despite being a relatively young team, with only two seniors starting, the Vikings have demonstrated immense growth and determination. As coach John Habeeb noted, “Motivation is intrinsic in every tennis player. We want to represent our school and community well.” The team’s prospects look promising, with many members returning next year, according to Deprey, who emphasized, “It’s been a big learning experience… and most of us are coming back ready for next year.” The team’s strong sense of camaraderie and shared goal has been a key factor in their success.
“We’re all about the team this year,” McIntyre emphasized. “We’re not just individuals; we’re a team, and we want to win together.” With their sights set on tomorrow’s State Title, the Caribou Vikings are ready to give it their all. As Deprey declared, “It’s awesome to be in this position, “and I’m excited to see what happens tomorrow.”” For more on this story, “visit Wagmtv.”com.
