According to a recent study, exercise and diet can have a significant impact on cognitive function, particularly in older adults. Researchers found that people who engaged in regular physical activity and followed a specific dietary pattern had slower rates of cognitive decline compared to those who did not follow the diet and exercise regimen.

The study, which was published in the journal Science X, found that the Mediterranean-DASH Diet Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay (MIND) diet, which combines elements of the Mediterranean and DASH diets, was particularly effective in protecting against cognitive decline.

The MIND diet emphasizes whole grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds, while limiting intake of red meat, fats, and sweets.

Researchers found that older adults who followed theMIND diet most closely had the slowest rate of cognitive decline over a 10-year period.
