Howard University has received a historic $80 million unrestricted gift from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott, marking one of the largest single contributions in the University’s history (Yahoo Finance, 2025). The gift includes $63 million to Howard University and $17 million to the Howard University College of Medicine, providing the institution with flexible resources to advance strategic priorities and sustain access and opportunities for students.
