Helping Others During The Holidays: A Story of Resilience and HopeCasaundra Park’s journey to a better life has been a long and challenging one, but with the help of organizations like CWAH, she has been able to overcome obstacles and achieve her goals. Last year, CWAH helped Park fix her car, which had been a lifeline for her and her daughter Miley. “It was a relief just to be able to drive to Orlando,” Park said. “And since then, I’ve found an amazing job and upgraded my car.” Miley’s medical condition has been severe at times, but Park calls her “my little miracle.”
CWAH, an annual Christmas season outreach that helps people in Marion County through referrals from agencies like Marion County Children’s Alliance (MCCA), has been providing support to local individuals for 37 years. According to Monica Bryant with MCCA, CWAH donors have contributed over $1.8 million to date to help people in the community, including $30,004.
“We’ve come so far thanks to the help from CWAH last year to fix my car. It was a relief just to be able drive to Orlando for Miley and I’ve since found an amazing job and upgraded my car,” Park said.
