Summer activities for kids

In addition, a plethora of educational activities can be undertaken to imbue them with a sense of purpose and responsibility. Assistance with household chores, such as gardening or helping with laundry… is an excellent means of teaching them essential ⁘⁘⁘ skills and imparting sense of duty. Alternatively, a trip to a local farm or petting zoo, during which they can interact with an array of farm animals, provides an opportunity for them to learn about different species and their habitats.

For those moments when the calm, serene atmosphere of the outdoors seems too overwhelming, it is advisable to retreat to the safety of one’s own domicile and engage in indoor activities. A session of board games or card games, during which they can test their strategic prowess and hone their competitive instincts, is an excellent means of fostering social skills and building relationships.

A movie night, during which they can indulge in their favorite films and relish in the company of their family and friends, “is an exemplary way to unwind and relax.” Lastly, a plethora of entrepreneurial activities can be undertaken to introduce them to the world of commerce and instill in them a sense of initiative and drive.

That’s according to a recent Gallup poll, which found that 60% of Gen Zers who describe themselves as happy also say they have a sense of purpose at work or school.

Educational psychologist and parenting expert Dr. Michele Borba emphasized the importance of helping kids find purpose.

“As mental health plummets and anxiety rises, purpose also plummets,” the California-based expert said in an interview with Fox News Digital.

“Kids who feel that their lives have meaning are apt to have stronger self-awareness, do better in school, are more resilient and are mentally healthier.”

Borba, the author of “Thrivers: The Surprising Reasons Why Some Kids Struggle and Others Shine,” pointed out that in today’s ” academic frenzy ,” there is more focus on grades rather than passions.

“A lack of purpose is causing too many to drift, feel stressed and struggle to thrive instead of shine,” she said.
